Oscars 2011 winners

The red carpet has rolled in the winners. And so after hours of watching Tweets and live blogging sessions, I now present to you the 2011 Academy Award winners:

The King's Speech bags major plums, including Best Picture, Director, and Actor.
Best Picture: The King's Speech

Best Director: Tom Hooper, The King's Speech

Best Actor: Colin Firth, The King's Speech

There was no contest (in my opinion) that Natalie Portman will win Best Actress for her role as ballet dancer Nina.
Best Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, The Fighter

Best Supporting Actress: Melissa Leo, The Fighter

Best Original Screenplay: David Sleider, The King's Speech

Though losing the Best Picture award, The Social Network managed to win some accolades, including Best Adapted Screenplay.
Best Adapted Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network

Best Animated Feature Film: Toy Story 3

Best Foreign Language Film: In a Better World (Denmark)

Best Documentary Feature: The Inside Job

Best Art Direction: Alice in Wonderland

Technical awards were given to Inception, such as Best Cinematography and Visual Effects.
Best Cinematography: Inception

Best Film Editing: The Social Network

Best Costume Design: Alice in Wonderland

One of the best movies of 2010, Toy Story won for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
Best Original Song: We Belong Together by Randy Newman for Toy Story 3

Best Original Score: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network

Best Animated Short: The Lost Thing

Best Documentary Short: Strangers No More

Best Live Action Short: God of Love

Best Makeup: The Wolfman

Best Sound Editing: Inception

Best Sound Mixing: Inception

Best Visual Effects: Inception

I think the major winners were pretty predictable, especially for the acting awards. Though I would've wanted my personal favorite, Toy Story 3, to bag the biggest plum that night, I think The King's Speech is a worthy winner.

Congratulations to everyone!

A delicious, tummy-filling experience at Papa John's

Hubby and I went on a post-Valentine's date yesterday. Since we wanted it to be special, we opted for a resto we've never eaten in before. Off we went to Robinsons Galleria's Veranda and stopped by a restaurant named Papa John's.

A renowned pizza chain in the US with branches all over the world, Papa John's instantly caught our attention with the mouth-watering photos of their pizzas on the menu. Curiosity also got the best of us, as we wondered how Papa John's is different from the other pizza chains here in the metro.

We ordered the Super Papa's pizza (which I think is their house special), Chicken and Corn Soup, Seafood Carbonara (with penne noodles), Green Apple Soda, and Blueberry Cheesecake. My apologies for the quality of the photos, they were taken with my phone's camera. :)

Our delicious meal minus the Blueberry Cheesecake
We spent around Php 830 for everything (inclusive of service charge), good for 2 persons. Price points are fair at face value, but considering how stuffed we were even before the cheesecake was served, I can say that Papa John's gave us great value for our money. While each dish was delicious, hubby and I consider the Super Papa's the runaway winner. Dip it in the garlic butter sauce, and it's heaven!

Eating at Papa John's is a good experience, not just for its great food but also for its homey ambience (albeit the branch in Galleria seems a bit small), friendly staff and speedy service. We'll probably be back for more, that's for sure. For the meantime, I'm liking their Facebook page. :)

7 Random Things About Me

Yeah, I know it's been quite a while since I last posted. A lot of things are eating up my blogging time (and I'm blogging when and where? Hahaha!). But thanks to pinaymomonline, she gave me a reason to get back to blogging with this award:

Now, with this award, I'm also asked to share 7 things about me. So who's the Pinay airing her Points of View here? She:

1. Is a working mom who's got a bubbly, curly-haired 1-year-old angel named Anna Zafina;

2. Has been married to a guy who's got hair that's longer than hers (so much so that people get confused whether he's a guy or a girl without his facial hair) for almost 3 years now;

3. Actually likes listening to music, and grew up loving Madonna's songs, among others;

4. A certified 80s baby;

5. Once dreamed of becoming a lawyer, a radio DJ, and a fashion designer, but is presently working as a web content writer;

6. Hates the rains since Ondoy happened;

7. Is not the type to be considered "stylish." She doesn't put on make-up and now rarely wears heels, opting for more laid-back styles such as shirt, jeans, and flats.

So now that you've got to know a little about the person behind this blog, it's time to let 15 others share 7 random things about themselves. And thus I choose the bloggers behind:

Pink Memoirs
Utotmopink
Life Can't Wait
Presentation Animation
Life Ascending
Elvira's Roundabout
A Journey From the Past
Pop Ups of My Mind
Missus Bounty Basket
Blogging is My New Hobby
Life As I See It
Salmoncat's Entries
The Tsinay Writes
Happiness
The Modern Pinay Wife

Hope you can pass this award to other bloggers, too. That's 15 bloggers and 7 random things about you. Ready? Go!
